The history of the Salvation Army is inextricably associated with music. The Salvation Army Museum Basel has therefore many records in connection with the Salvation Army.
There are many different versions: Phonograph cylinders, piano rolls, 78 rpm records (Regal), tapes, 45 & 33 rpm records and CDs. Among these are not only brass music records and songs played by the Salvation Army, but also different speeches of several Generals of the Salvation Army. Of course records not made by but in connection with the Salvation Army, e.g. a satirical song or songs from movies, are not missing in the collection. |
